Korowai Whaimana

Korowai Whaimana is a workshop to help people with experience of mental illness understand and use their human rights.

The one day workshop is presented, in a way which is both educational and fun, by facilitators who have experience of mental illness and have been trained to deliver the workshops.

The workshop can help you to:

  • understand human rights
  • understand direct and indirect discrimination, and reasonable accommodation
  • understand the Human Rights Act 1993 and how to use it
  • understand how other Acts may impact on your rights
  • understand what the Human Rights Commission does make or facilitate a complaint against discrimination, by giving you the tools you need and increasing your confidence to take action.
