National Youth Forum on Cultural Diversity

The forum will be held in Auckland from 17-20 August.  It will be jointly hosted by the New Zealand National Commission for UNESCO and the Human Rights Commission, with support from the Auckland Council and the Office of the Children’s Commissioner.

The forum runs in parallel with the New Zealand Diversity Forum (19-20 August).  Young people will have the chance to contribute their views to the wider Forum.

What will participants get out of this?
  • They will participate in workshops about issues relating to cultural diversity.
  • They will also meet and engage with leading opinion makers on cultural diversity issues.
  • They will bring back fresh ideas and new perspectives to their local communities, youth councils and youth groups.
  • They will also strengthen their own leadership potential.
