Wellington Regional Ethnic Women\’s Network

On 19 August 2006 the Office of Ethnic Affairs launched the Wellington Regional Ethnic Women’s Network.

The aim is to bring together Ethnic women to network, share information, experiences, support each other and to raise awareness of issues that affect them. The aim is also to advocate for the development and implementation of government policies that meet Ethnic women’s needs, and to foster mutual understanding and friendship with the wider community.

The vision of the Network is that Ethnic women in the Wellington region are well connected and able to participate in all aspects of New Zealand Life. The network will work closely with organisations such as the National Council of Women in New Zealand, Ministry of Women’s Affairs, Pacific Women’s Network, Maori Women’s Welfare League, YWCA and the Federation of Ethnic Councils.
