Projects 2011
Outward Bound Southern Cross Multi Ethnic leadership programme

In collaboration with Outward Bound Trust and the Human Rights Commission, the Auckland Fiji Community identifies youth leaders from the community aged 18-26 years to participate in a 3 week outdoor adventure Southern Cross programme in Anakiwa, Malborough Sounds held in February 2011.

Fiji Day

Since its inception, a major aim of the Association has been to bring family and friends of Fiji together here in Auckland. The Association organises an annual “Fiji Day” event, which happens around the 10th October. On this significant day in Fiji’s history, families and friends of Fiji gather together to celebrate shared identities as well as honour common experiences distinctive of Diaspora communities. “Fiji Day” is a multicultural and multi-denominational event as the Association respects and recognises that people of Fiji consist of many ethnic, cultural, religious and interest groups.

In 2011 the celebration will be held once again. More details provided later.
