Auckland Inter-Faith Council

The Auckland Inter-Faith Council is an incorporated voluntary non-profit association which works towards:

  • Representing the diversity of religious traditions
  • Creating a forum for inter-faith dialogue
  • Fostering mutual appreciation and good relations
  • Promoting the elimination of religious prejudice.

Membership includes people from the following religious groups and faith communities:

  • Anglican Church
  • Baha’i Faith
  • Buddhism (Zen)
  • Catholic Church
  • Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon)
  • Christian Science Church
  • Family Federation for World Peace (Unification Church)

Keeping & Practicing Faith in New Zealand Today

The Auckland Inter-Faith Council is holding a series of public talks this year on the theme ”Keeping & Practicing Faith in New Zealand Today”.  Each evening several speakers from different faith backgrounds share their views on the topic.  Speakers this year include Bishop Patrick Dunn (Catholic);  Sensei Amala Wrightson (Zen Buddhist); Bishop Ross Bay (Anglican) and Mr Verpal Singh (Sikh).
