Framework Trust

Framework Trust delivers community based mental health and intellectual disability services in greater Auckland from strategic locations throughout the city.

Our vision -”Recovery through Partnership”- is demonstrated by the provision of innovative recovery programmes, which are based on identifying the strengths of our mental health consumers.

Framework Trust has worked on the Like Minds, Like Mine campaign for several years and now devotes its efforts to a mental health community based radio show ‘Take It From Us’, which is funded by the campaign against stigma and discrimination against people with lived experience of mental distress.

Project 2011
‘Take It From Us’ Radio Show

‘Take It From Us’ provides a voice for the mental health sector on radio, and particularly gives the opportunity for expression of views and issues by mental health consumers.  The award-winning programme was initiated by Framework almost 20 years ago and is the first radio programme in Aotearoa to be broadcast by people with lived experience of mental illness.

‘Take It From Us’ is a vehicle to address stigma and discrimination, and to build awareness of mental health as another aspect of New Zealand’s diversity. Those messages are brought out by careful selection of guests from a broad range of interests. This year ‘Take it from Us’ will invite Rohan Jaduram, from the Human Rights Commission, to talk about the Diversity Action Programme and upcoming Forum.
