The Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand was established in 1977. The Foundation’s mission is to make mental health everybody’s business; its vision is to create a society where all people flourish – and enjoy positive mental health and wellbeing. 

What we do is diverse and expansive, with campaigns and services that cover a wide range of mental health and wellbeing activities. We take a holistic approach to mental health, promoting what we know makes and keeps people mentally well.

Bright Future Starts From Here

The Mental Health Foundation, Counties Manukau DHB, the Office of Ethnic Affairs, Yan Oi Sei and NZ Chinese International Sport Exchange Association are proud to announce “Bright Future Starts From Here”.

This exciting event is aimed at Auckland’s diverse Asian community and the goal of the day is to not only build the Asian workforce in New Zealand by promoting the various career paths available to Asian youths but to also educate them on the various social and health services that are available to them.

  • Health and Social Agencies Expo

The Health and Social Agencies Expo will feature stalls providing information on the various social and health services available to the Asian community including IRDF, ACC and language line. 

Women can book for a FREE SMEAR test – certain criteria apply – by calling Betty on 09 8467886 ext 711 for an appointment. 

The expo will also feature two free career workshops for youth aged between 14 and 17 years. For more information please contact Charlie Sheng on 09 966 5727. Prizes and giveaways happening all day.

Would you like to hear real stories about career development across a variety of fields? If so, join us for the Bright Future Starts from Here Career Workshops. 

Workshop One: 10am to 12pm

  • Mental Health Professionals’ Session

Hear about what a psychologist does, what is an ordinary day in the life of an occupational therapist and more

Workshop Two: 1pm to 3pm

  • General Professionals’ Session

Learn about the role of an Asian Police Liaison, what is required to be a top journalist and more.
