OMEGA
OMEGA believes that real economic success will be achieved by our collective actions to attract and enable skilled immigrants to fully utilise their skills in the workplace. OMEGA is a solution and action oriented coalition of interests, dedicated to finding, growing, and implementing high impact strategies and approaches to create a movement of change in employing skilled immigrants across greater Auckland. As an organisation we recognise the unique barriers new Kiwis face when entering the New Zealand labour market, and our programmes address these barriers, and at the same time help organisations benefit from the talents and skills immigrants bring with them.
OMEGA Highlights
- 263 skilled immigrants have been matched with Kiwi professionals.
- Approximately 80% of mentees who complete the programme find relevant employment.
- 236 mentoring volunteers from 92 companies in Auckland, which represents a commitment of approximately 5000 hours of corporate community support.
- 97% of mentees providing feedback would recommend the programme to others.
- 91% of mentors providing feedback indicate that they would refer other business professionals to mentor a skilled immigrant.
- An average response of 85 percentage of mentors who complete the programme responded that their awareness increased of the issues immigrants face.
