Waitaki Multicultural Council Inc

Waitaki Multicultural Council Inc was formed in May 2008 in Oamaru. We have over 50 different ethnic groups living in the Waitaki District. We host monthly social gathering and potluck meal of ethnic food to share our cultures and get to know each other. We have guest speakers from different agencies or cultures. We take part in the citizenship ceremonies and welcome new citizens. We provide links and information about the community. We also have a women\\’s group to provide support and networking. Recently we have initiated a homework club for primary and secondary children. As an organisation that promotes cultural diversity, positive race relations, we are here to serve the community and proud to support the Diversity Action Programme.
