Whangarei Art Museum

The Whangarei Art Museum opened in June 1996. The museum is the public gallery of the district and the only public gallery in Northland.

The art museum is the permanent home of the city art collection which embraces both heritage and contemporary art work. The art museum is also the venue for internally curated and national touring exhibitions – designed to showcase the full diversity of creative art practice in New Zealand, Northland and the Pacific Rim.
