Delta Community Support Trust

Delta grew out of the community ministry of North Avon Baptist Church in Christchurch that began in 1985. Delta was registered as a charitable trust in 1995 and began operating with the vision to support and empower the people in the local area. Since then, Delta has grown in response to local and city-wide community needs. Delta has three divisions: Friendship Link, which provides services to people with dual intellectual and psychological disabilities; the Evergreen Club which runs a programme for older persons 5 days a week; and Community Development Services that encompasses empowerment courses, food bank, budget advice, community meals and cafe, cultural work and other initiatives. Delta Community House is a community centre located in a multipurpose building which is used for a variety of activities.
