Projects 2012
Race relations Day 2012

Whangarei will be celebrating 2012 Race Relations Day with an international food event on 24 March at the Old Library, Rust Avenue, from 5pm onwards. There will be food and snacks for sale from a variety of different countries and traditions – e.g. Indian, Japanese, Persian and Fijian, as well as multi-ethnic food stalls from English Language Partners, WINGS and the Migrant Centre. Each stall will be raising money for its own ethnic community.  There will also be dance, music, arts and crafts.

Each year our Whangarei Race Relations Day event is held in conjunction with celebrations for the Baha’i New Year. The local Race Relations Day Organising Committee includes representatives of the Baha’i Community, English Language Partners Northland, Settlement Support, Whangarei Migrant Centre and WINGS.
