Lyttelton Community House

Lyttelton Community House seeks to provide assistance to the Lyttelton Harbour Basin community, Canterbury, New Zealand.

Lyttelton Community House is a community cottage project that came out of two pieces of community research carried out by Noeline Allan and Esther Hayes. Lyttelton Community House opened to the public in June 2009, with its official opening held on 7 August 2009. It is a registered charitable trust. Community House seeks to provide social, educational, vocational and health support for vulnerable people in the Lyttelton Harbour Basin community.

The Community house provides:

  • Community Lunch: 12.30 Tuesdays, free of charge
  • Employment search support
  • Welfare support
  • Recreational and social activities
  • Women’s & Men’s Groups
