Campaigns
MIGRANTE Aotearoa is at the forefront of migrant Filipino campaigns and struggles, building awareness and concern about the plight of poor and marginalised Filipinos at home and abroad, asserting their welfare and promoting their holistic development. It campaigns against abuses in the workplaces, policies and regulations that exploit and oppress migrant workers, and various immigration and employment-related issues affecting Filipinos in New Zealand and other parts of the world. Likewise, it engages in solidarity activities in support of the struggles of migrants of other nationalities.
MIGRANTE Aotearoa develops active coordination and cooperation with various sectors of Philippine society such as the peasants, workers, women, progressive intellectuals, and students in their campaigns and struggles. It believes that the resolution to the perennial exploitation and abuses of migrant Filipinos lies in the concerted action of the Filipino people for genuine freedom and democracy.
