Whangarei Migrant Centre

The Whangarei Migrant Centre is an umbrella group for migrant communities to break down isolation as well as to celebrate and promote cultural diversity. It offers a place where people can feel accepted and express and share their culture.

Projects 2012
Race Relations Day 2013 (planning)

This will be marked in a colourful way on 21 March 2013, food stalls and in conjunction with other organisations.  It is a chance to fundraise and for the host community to meet new migrants and get to know something of their culture. We would expect about 250 people.

Settlement Support and Women’s International Newcomers Group Support (WINGS) have offices in the Whangarei Migrant Centre. It is intended that with several services in the one office it should be easier for newcomers to access information and connect with each other.
