Methodist Church, Wellington, November 2007

The Methodist Church affirmed the Statement on Religious Diversity at its annual conference in Wellington on 6 November. The Statement was sent out to synods for discussion in August, and all 300 delegates received a copy of the booklet Religious Diversity in New Zealand which contains the Statement and further background information. The Conference was addressed by Race Relations Commissioner Joris de Bres before voting to affirm the Statement and ‘to encourage the development of good interreligious relations at all levels in the life of the Methodist Connexion’.
