The Human Rights Commission is calling on New Zealanders to get vaccinated this Super Saturday.
Chief Human Rights Commissioner Paul Hunt says getting vaccinated is about fulfilling your human rights responsibility to whānau, friends, neighbours, work colleagues, your community, and our indispensable health professionals.
"Human rights are not just about rights. They are also about our responsibilities to each other, including the responsibility to do all we reasonably can to keep each other safe," says Hunt.
"This powerful idea is woven deeply into the fabric of our society. It’s a feature of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It’s common to all of New Zealand’s communities."
"So, if you are not yet vaccinated, please go for it, demonstrating that you take seriously your rights, your relationships and your responsibilities."
