Community News: Refugee Research Symposium 2015

The Refugee Research Symposium 2015 will be held at the AUT University, North Shore Campus, on Thursday 3rd December 2015.

The Symposium will advance knowledge to improve access to healthcare and promote good health among the refugee populations in New Zealand.

About

The Symposium is hosted by the Centre for Migrant and Refugee Research (CMRR) and will particularly emphasise research for healthy outcomes relevant to public and community health development. The Symposium will include national and international keynote speakers. It will advance knowledge to improve access to healthcare and promote good health among the refugee populations in New Zealand.

The Symposium will draw together researchers, practitioners and community members. The aims are:

  • To disseminate research findings.
  • To identify and prioritise health and settlement research needs.
  • To make recommendations for the conduct of research with refugees in New Zealand.

It offers opportunities to work collaboratively with agencies and researchers and showcase research outcomes and implications. If you are interested in undertaking or planning migrant and refugee research, this Symposium will be a place to learn, share best practice, network and refresh academic and professional knowledge.
