Community News: 'Volunteer Opportunity: Forced Migration Outreach Group'

September 14, 2015

A new Red Cross associated volunteer group is being formed in Auckland, with a special focus on forced migration issues.

Each year 750 refugees are resettled in New Zealand and are assisted by the Red Cross. The volunteer group will aim to support the work of Red Cross Refugee Services, increase asylum seeker outreach and coordinate community engagement initiatives.

The volunteer group wants to make the most of its member’s different skills and also welcomes additional ideas and complimentary projects.

Group meetings will be held bi-weekly on Tuesdays from 6PM in Kingsland, with the first meeting on Tuesday 22 September. Please email Liselle.finlay@gmail.com to register your interest.
