Korowai Whaimana Programme

Korowai Whaimana was an education initiative created in partnership between the Like Minds Like Mine programme, the Human Rights Commission, and people with experience of mental illness. It offered one day workshops designed to empower people with mental illness to:

  • understand human rights
  • understand direct and indirect discrimination, and reasonable accommodation
  • understand the Human Rights Act 1993 and how to use it
  • understand how other Acts may impact on their rights
  • understand how the Commission’s complaint service works.

In 2007, the programme was evaluated externally. A summary of this evaluation is available here.
